(Rock Hill-AP) September 21, 2006 - The girlfriend of the suspended York County coroner indicted on drug charges has agreed to enter a court-run drug rehab program.
Attorney Jim Morton says if 28-year-old Erin Jenkins successfully completes the program, the drug charges against her will be dismissed. She's expected to plead guilty next month and enter the program.
Investigators say they have video of Jenkins selling drugs in a York parking lot in May while her boyfriend, suspended Coroner Doug McKown watches.
McKown's lawyer, Jack Swerling, says he's glad Jenkins is being allowed into the rehab program.
Attorney general's spokesman Mark Plowden says Jenkins has cooperated fully with law enforcement.
He would not say if she was offered the program in exchange for testimony against McKown.
