Testimonial:

"Hello to everyone, my name is Robyn and I am a graduate of this rehab program. I am writing this success story because I will be forever grateful to the staff that helped save my life. A lady referred me to this program when I was in desperate need of help. I had called a different rehabilitation center in Winnipeg. It was also a three months program minimum. They told me I would have to wait 3-8 weeks on the waiting list and they would call when there was room for me. I was devastated, I couldn’t wait, I needed it now! I had just overdosed and tried to end my life. The drugs had taken over my entire being and I felt completely numb of any feelings or emotions. I no longer wanted to live. I had resorted to drug use because I was involved in a very mentally, emotionally and physically abusive relationship. The only way I knew how to deal with the pain and suffering was to numb my body completely. This is what I did for 4 years. I suppressed so much pain and eventually my body and mind could not take it any longer. I overdosed and was hanging on by a string for my life. I woke up in a hospital and at that exact moment I knew I needed to get help and quick. I knew that if I went back to the drugs one more time I would be dead, no doubt about it. I knew that this was my last chance at life and I needed immediate help. The waiting list for rehab was insane. I didn’t know what to do. I searched on the Internet because I thought that maybe B.C would have a program that would accept me right away. I phoned the hotline there and they highly recommended Kyle, who is one of the intake workers.

They told me to phone him immediately and he would help me. I don’t know what I would have done had I not talked to this lady from the hotline. I knew that I wanted to come to this rehab the moment I talked to Kyle, who was very professional. He reassured me that the program is excellent and would help me deal with the issues of my past as well as my addiction. The best part and more importantly which really saved my life was the fact that I could enter the program the next day…absolutely no waiting. I was so relieved and for the first time in a very long time, I had hope for my future.

I was terrified at first as I left my parents and traveled from Winnipeg to the rehab. When I arrived at this drug rehab, I was physically, mentally, emotional and spiritually broken. There are no other words to describe the state I was in. I know first hand what it is like to come off drugs. I was addicted to crack, cocaine and alcohol and I suffered excruciating pain from the withdrawals but I made it through the first step. This program saved my life. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is battling addiction. The Detoxification program was an amazing experience and it cleared my body of the drugs and toxins. After 22 days, five hours a day in the sauna I felt like a new person. Physically, I felt like a million dollars. After the Detoxification program I completed the Learning Improvement Course. I have to say that I wish I knew the learning techniques that this course teaches, because, I know it would have helped me when I was taking nursing in college. I feel the learning improvement course would be an asset to all elementary schools, high schools and universities. Working my way through the program was not easy. I will tell you that I was able to confront my past and all the negative events. I confronted it, dealt with it and put it in the past. I am now able to live in present time, meaning I will no longer dwell on the past nor do I regret any part of it. I take it as a learning experience and now it’s time to start my new life. I am able to help others who are going through what I went through and I can honestly tell them that I do understand. I have a much clearer perception of my environment and my surroundings. I am able to remove myself from any place that I do not feel comfortable. I have learned the tools here at this rehab to live a very happy and successful life. This has been my third rehabilitation center and I have never felt the confidence I feel today. It has been a life changing experience. I have never been this happy before. I have never felt this confident and I can truly and honestly say that this is an amazing program. It does work and it has enabled me to believe in myself again. I have the ability to do anything I want in life and I truly believe that if you really want it, it’s right here. You have to want to change and nobody can make this decision for you.

After I completed my program I had applied to work at this facility. I have been hired as a Graduate Officer in training. I feel so blessed to be able to give back what I have been given; a chance at life again, a chance to be happy. It was an amazing experience and I wouldn’t trade the happiness that I am feeling today for anything. This program has taught me how to live without drugs or alcohol and truly enjoy life. I will continue to use the skills I have learned in everyday that I am gratefully living from now on. It is my time now to flourish and prosper!"
